Aftercare

 What to expect:

  • The outcome of your tattoo will vary depending on how you take care of it. It is important to keep it protected during the first 2-3 weeks as your skin is healing itself.

  • Your artist will advise you how long to leave your bandage on, when you do take it off you should gently lather and rinse your tattoo with unscented soap and warm water. Please do not scrub!

  • After drying your skin by lightly dabbing with a clean towel or cloth allow it to breathe and not cover it with any tight clothing. Try to wear loose clean clothing.

  • Within 2-3 days you can start to apply a thin layer of aftercare lotion (this can also be any unscented lotion such as Lubriderm) as long as it keeps your skin moisturized but it can still breathe and not feel heavy.

  • Showering is fine but try to avoid excessive sweating and physical activity for the first week of getting your tattoo. It's important to avoid submerging your tattoo in water; baths, pools, saunas etc, wait until your tattoo is fully healed before doing any of these activities.

  • Avoid direct sunlight in the first month of getting your tattoo to avoid fading (Remember once it's healed to apply sunscreen over your tattoo every time it is exposed to sunlight to keep it looking good as new).

During the healing process:

  • After a few days, you can expect your tattoo to flake and become itchy. This is normal but please refrain from itching or scratching (I know it's super hard but it’s super important!) as you can remove pigment and damage the tattoo/skin while it's healing.

  • If you notice any swelling, redness, fever, or any other signs of infection/allergies please contact your artist and see your doctor asap.

Once it's all healed:

  • Please feel free to send your artist a nicely lit healed photo or leave a review on Google! We love feedback and photos from our clients to ensure you love the work!
